NEWS: Now Streaming, July 2021

Time flies, we can’t believe it’s already July! It’s been a busy summer for Artcast with lots of good stuff on the horizon including a fantastic mix of new Featured Artist galleries that will be making their way to our collection shortly. Make sure you keep an eye on our social channels as that’s where we will be announcing their releases in addition to some upcoming profiles and interviews you will be able to find here in our Latest News. To kick off the month, we’d like to introduce to several of our latest gallery additions which all happen to be dedicated collections for some pretty legendary artists from the past. They can all be found in the Classical Art category and are also our streaming recommendations for July >>

  • Hieronymus Bosch
  • Giovanni Bellini
  • Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun
  • Jacques-Laurent Agasse
  • William H. Johnson

Going back in time to the 16th century, step into the surreal works and highly eccentric world of the mysterious Early Netherlandish painter Hieronymous Bosch with the gallery, Hieronymus Bosch. It’s definitely one of our quirkier Classical Art collections where it will take you days (maybe even months) to take in all of its details. Around the same exact time in Italy, Giovanni Bellini was transforming Venetian painting with his lavish use of color and artistic approach inspired by Northern Renaissance and Byzantine art. You can admire some of his most iconic works in our new Giovanni Bellini collection. Jumping to late 18th century France, Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun was making her own mark on the art world with her signature blend of Neoclassicism and Rococo portraiture which mostly depicted European aristocrats and royalty such as Marie Antoinette. Enjoy all the glamour and grandeur of Europe’s most prominent figures during that period of history in our new gallery, Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun. Just a couple of decades later in neighboring Switzerland, Jacques-Laurent Agasse was firmly on the scene as one of the most celebrated animal painters at the turn of the 19th century – and we are still celebrating his incredible talent and artworks today with our Jacques-Laurent Agasse gallery. Lastly and into more recent times, William H. Johnson was establishing himself as a major American artist of the 20th century and an important figure in the Harlem Renaissance movement. From Expressionism to Cubism and Naïve Folk Art, you can explore some of his colorful and eclectic work in our new gallery, William H. Johnson.
