NEWS: Now Streaming, June 2020
June is here!
We can’t believe summer is finally on our doorstep and we couldn’t be more excited. We hope you have been enjoying the warmer weather and longer nights with more time spent outdoors after a few months mostly at home. While we encourage you to get out and make the most of the changing season, we also have some great new galleries for streaming on your TV when you do find yourself indoors and craving some exceptional visuals. Here are some of our recommendations for June >>
- Anselmus Boëtius de Boodt
- Manzanar by Ansel Adams
- WWII America in Color
- John Margolies’ Roadside America
- African Treasures
Anselmus Boëtius de Boodt is one of our newest galleries in the Illustrations & Drawings category which is comprised of colorful depictions of birds, flora, mythical creatures & everything in between from the talented Flemish draughtsman Anselmus Boëtius de Boodt ((1550-1632). We’ve also been greatly expanding our History category starting with Manzanar by Ansel Adams, controversial black and white images of Manzanar, a former Japanese-American internment camp, taken in 1943 by this legendary American photographer. Another fascinating new gallery from the same time period is WWII America in Color, a collection of color photographs taken across America between 1939-1943 by both the Farm Security Administration Office and Office of War Information. John Margolies’ Roadside America will take you through the eccentricities of roadside America with its vernacular and novelty architecture captured by photographer John Margolies (1940-2016) in the second half of the 20th century. Finally, take a trip to the other side of the world with African Treasures, a collection of everything from jewelry to sculptures and masks from around the African continent.
