NEWS: Now Streaming, March 2021
We made it to March which means spring is nearly here! “A season which adds new life and new beauty to all that is”, nature has provided artists with endless inspiration during this season since the beginning of time and we’ll be highlighting some of our favorite spring flavored galleries over the next few months both here and across social media. Keep an eye out if you’re a fan of florals in all shapes, sizes and interpretations. For now, we want to recommend some of the latest galleries to have hit the app over the past month which we’re really excited about >>
- Southeast Asia
- Édouard Vuillard
- Vintage Turkey
- Painted Blooms
Starting off with once of the most iconic artists of the 20th century, we now have a gallery dedicated to the work of Modigliani (1884-1920), the prolific portraitist with a tragic life story who modernized figurative painting and defied classification with his trademark elongated features and mask-like eyes. Southeast Asia is now streaming in the Travel & Culture category for those who want to explore the tropical beaches and lively cultures of Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Indonesia through their TV screen. Drawing inspiration from the daily lives of the bourgeoisie in Paris, his mother’s work as a seamstress, and Japanese woodblock prints, we now have a gallery exclusively featuring the vibrant works from Les Nabis member Édouard Vuillard (1868-1940). For another visual voyage, go back in time via a fascinating collection of photochroms depicting daily life in Turkey from one of the last decades of the Ottoman Empire with Vintage Turkey. Last but not least and in honor of the upcoming Spring Equinox, we recommend one of our favorite Classical galleries, Painted Blooms, which is full of colorful still life paintings of beautiful blooms and bouquets.
